What the early bird catches in Otaru

The length of daylight is still long even though summer solstice passed more than a month ago.
In Hokkaido Otaru, the sun rises from the sea in summer.
The scene the sun emerges above the horizon is wonderful! If you can get up around 4:00, and weather permitting, you will be able to enjoy a beautiful sunrise.
The sun sets also in the sea at this time. If you happen to be in Shukutsu around 6:30 p.m., and if it is not cloudy, you will see a beautiful sunset from lookout point located between Otaru Aquarium and Hotel Neuschloss.
I wish you a fine weather on the day you stay in Otaru to see a spectacular sunrise or sunset.
