"Wagashi", the Japanese cake made from beans, rice powder and sugar, is pleasing to the eye as well as its taste.
Wagashi is always made in consideration of Japanese nature. Flowers and fruits of the season usually are the main subject of wagashi.
The photo is a Japanese persimmon, a chrysanthemum, and Japanese maple leaves. They are all associated with autumn of Japan.
Wagashi may be a good example to see the feeling of the Japanese for nature. The Japanese seem to sensitively perceive a slight change of the season, and enjoy bringing nature into their daily life in this way.
